Accurate prices are the reason this website exists. This page explains where our Chipotle prices and nutrition numbers come from, how often we update them and how we correct mistakes.
Where our prices come from
Chipotle sets prices restaurant by restaurant, so the same burrito can cost $2 or $3 more in New York City than in a small town. To find a typical price, we:
- Choose U.S. Chipotle restaurants at random from Chipotle’s restaurant list. Our October 2026 check covered 50 restaurants in 22 states.
- Read each restaurant’s online menu, which shows the price for pickup and for delivery.
- Use the median price for each item (the middle value, rounded to the nearest 5 cents) and show the lowest and highest prices we found.
Our prices are pickup and in-restaurant prices. Delivery menu prices in the Chipotle app are about 30% higher, and we list them separately in our delivery prices guide. Some items from Chipotle’s ready-made menus, such as the High Protein Menu, are priced from a restaurant whose prices match the national median.
Where our nutrition information comes from
Calories and nutrients come from Chipotle’s official U.S. nutrition data, the same values used in its nutrition calculator. Because every Chipotle meal is built to order, we add up the official values for a standard build named on each page, for example a burrito with white rice, black beans, fresh tomato salsa and cheese. For quesadillas, the amount of cheese is our estimate, and we say so on the page. Allergen information reflects Chipotle’s own tags for gluten, dairy, soy and sulfites; always check with Chipotle if you have a food allergy.
How often we update
We review prices at least monthly and whenever Chipotle announces a menu or price change. Each page shows the date prices were last checked.
Corrections
If you find an error, please tell us through our contact page. We review every report and update pages when the evidence supports a change.
